Profile - Pat Monneron

Pat MonneronPat has been involved sales and marketing within the Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific and the Asia Pacific tourism industry in general for over twenty five years. During this time he has worked successfully in both the public and private sectors, commencing his career with Tourism Western Australia after graduating from Curtin University in Perth.

Pat's areas of key responsibilities include sales distribution throughout Australia and New Zealand for Asian and South Pacific Islands product including - Fiji, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, New Caledonia and French Polynesia. In addition he can assist in the area of Public Relations & Media, Hotel marketing, Hotel E-commerce, third party websites (OTAs), and Hotel Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).

Pat has solid exposure to the Global Hotel and Tourism industries through his previous roles as Asia Pacific Director of Sales at Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific and in more recent time with Accor Hospitality and Mirvac Hotels & Resorts. During a five year period with Mirvac Hotels & Resorts, Pat was a key member of the team that oversaw the doubling of the hotel portfolio from 23 to 46 hotels by 2011.

Over the past ten years Pat has been involved in successful pre-opening sales and marketing strategies for luxury spa, resort and hotel projects throughout South Pacific, Australia and Southeast Asia. He worked on several re-branding plans for hotels, including strategies to tap new international markets, improve sales channel performance and identify new revenue streams. Importantly Pat has managed International Sales Representatives in previous roles, and therefore understands the key drivers for success in managing these opportunities.

With a sales and marketing background in developing niche and mainstream markets for the inbound sector in the areas of resorts, wellness, golf, ecotourism and general leisure experiences, Pat specialises in constructing comprehensive hospitality business and marketing plans into roadmaps that guide his clients in developing a strong sales pipeline.

His interests outside of hospitality and tourism include music, sports and discovering new cuisine sensations.
